Just Write Something…
Aw...it's just a game...probably the reason I'm not a GM. Interesting, though. Ever notice how few GMs that play in international tourneys aren't much older than, say, 50. That many years ago they were ALL over that age. Just since around Bobby's time has the world had so much to offer to the brilliant young minds out there.
Your children play?! The last OTB tourney I played in had sections divided up (5 or 6, I guess) including the open. The section which supposedly was the least experienced was full of 5 to 10 year old kids, nearly all of which could have wiped my play all over the floor. A lot of it is because of what is here....
Here's something... I'm stuck at home for at least another 4 weeks due to a total knee replacement I had done 3 weeks ago. If it weren't for a site like Chess.com, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. This site is a chess lover's dream come true. I realize that there may be other sites that may or may not excell in some facet of the chess world, but none of them come close to the versatility and complete coverage of what is happening, what has happened, or what may or may not happen in the future concerning the world of chess. I can study for a while, do my required home excersises, come back and play a couple games, maybe grab something to eat, read about the history of chess or changes that have happened during the course of the chess identity. I think that Chess.com video produced about the history of chess was about that best I've ever seen. Thanks, Chess.com, for everything you've done for this old man and for the efforts you make to spread the joy of chess to all the ages in all of the connected world!
do you have a link to that chess history video ?

how long did it take to write this????
longer than it took you to quote it...
The video was posted on Chess.com some time ago - probably a week or two. In that post, a ling to youtube was given which opened the video. It lasted for a little over an hour and was probably the best history show I've seen. The narrator was one I recognize on this site, but don't know which one. It was a good one. I'll take the time now and see if I can find either the chess.com posting or the link to youtube.

I found this link after a concerned search. Found it finally after searching "Forums" for the subject "history of chess" and might contain a "chess.com" creation.
