Karma

My personal karma must be off the charts to the good, which would be surprising to myself, yet I have the clear evidence. Today something happened to me that has likely not happened before, in the entire Universe.

I went to Starbucks and am waiting in line, when for no other reason than the line was long, the barista comes to me and asks me what I am having. At this point I am not entirely surprised, but pleased at this impeccable customer service. I place my order and off the barista goes. I have method of payment in hand when the barista returns, only to be waved off with a smile and a flippant "enjoy your day".

There is no question, Starbucks, being the beacon of capitalism that it is would froun on this employee's rogue behavior. I am forever in this barista's debt for risking their (no doubt) dream career to extend a hand of generosity.

Bless

I don't get it. You got a free coffee from a guy that didn't know you?

Are you Shakira's twin sister?

I am a man. Crazy, right? It's like I slipped through a wormhole to an alternate and friendly Universe. I really don't have a logicsl explaination. I don't even fully believe in karma.

Sometimes there is an easy explanation.

Go again, if he does it again , or if he does something else like talk to you or smile,  then it's not karma. He simply likes you!It was flirting. Lucky you!

Why would you assume this barista is a male? He is, I'm just interested in why you would assume this?

By the way, I have a decent gay-dar, and while I haven't tuned it up in a while it still works. I am 99% sure this is not the case.

I'm telling you (and whever cares to read the thread) this is an anomoly in the world I live in and there is no logical explaination other than a nice gesture.

I imagine she asked you as everyone else in the line had already been served and asked, and this is not karma.... At all really.

Anyway there's a few thousand Starbucks with a few hundred guests a week so I'm sure it's happened several times before

If the barista was female you wouldn't talk about karma. You would brag for your charm!

Ok fine, so you are type-A personality. No reason to ruin the conversation.

Today, just over 36 hours after this post, the universe kicks me in the teeth. Why, oh why, GODS OF THE UNIVERSE, must I be treated this way.

president_max

It kicked him in the teeth.  It's a mad world.
