For puzzle one (the one that says white to move) you must find a way to get out of check without moving your king.

For puzzle two (the one that says black to move) you must find the way to trade (take) a piece off the board and then to block the check from the rook with another piece by bringing it into the game or in other words, closer to the center of the board.
