I disagree. Knights and bishops each have their uses, but Bishops trump knights in most endgames(for instance, when pawns are opposite sides of the board). Besides, a two bishop checkmate without any other pieces but your king is possible and quite easy, whereas a 2N+K vs. K checkmate is literally impossible. (2N+K vs K+P is theoritically possible, but even GMs have stumbled upon that. On the other hand, most club players know or could figure out how to checkmate with two bishops).
That said, Knights shine in closed middlegames, and they other work very well with queens to deliver checkmate.
