2 I highly recommend the subreddit if you’re serious about learning. There a lot of myths and misinformation on yt

#43 he said everything that i researched by myself aswell, he can be trusted. hes called “exploring lucid dreaming” or smth like that

ELD unfortunately is wrong about a lot. Which is a shame because he has pretty much the largest social media audience of new learners out there. A brief list of his false claims:

The wild technique uses sleep paralysis: completely false. Not only can you not force sleep paralysis, it is completely unnecessary to LD

MILD involves repeating to yourself over and over “ I will lucid dream” (that’s like saying that repeating “I can play the guitar” Will help you learn guitar)

Getting excited Will wake you up early (absolutely false, but thinking this stupid rumour is true might)

when i get excited i wake up. i think alot of the things he says is based off of his experience, as everyones mind functions differently, infact i think he mentions that.

There’s a lot of misinformation about lucid dreaming online even on extremely popular news sources. Stick to books if you want the best, most unbiased research and techniques. Exploring the world of lucid dreaming by Stephen Laberge is a great book.

ok! thanks

46 I used to believe him and it happened to me. When I was informed by a more trusted source (neuroscientist named Daniel Love I think it was one of his YouTube videos debunking fake claims) that getting excited does not in fact wake you up, it happened much less often. To this day, the only times it has happened to me is when I think it will. Clearly a rumour.

I recently was obsessed with this, and by recently I mean like 3 months ish ago. I got pretty decent at it too, I currently have about 75 recorded LDs to my name and probably many more I forgot.
I stopped because it’s exhausting, on your body and your mind. It’s a constant struggle to try to keep yourself aware of your surroundings while awake so the habit carries over when you dream. Basically, it’s a daydreamers worst nightmare. The experience is great, but eventually, the novelty wears off with how hard on your health it is. I recommend practising it very casually if at all. No waking up to try to regain awareness during your rem cycle, just dream journal in the morning and a basic technique as you fall asleep. That way you aren’t destroying your health trying to get more of them.

Is it really that bad for your health? I always thought it was fine.

Thats def how the brain works, u convince urself of something then it happens.

maybe thats why ELD says that, he prolly read it snd then it happened.

tysm for ur help! ur a great person

Lucid dream misinformation is worse than most kinds because even if you try to ignore it, the doubts will still inevitably creep around in your mind. They’re like mind viruses, spreading through the medium of spooky misinterpreted dream stories.

Lucid dreaming is basically being aware that you're dreaming inside of a dream. You can then control the world and do anything you want. Literally! And it's really realistic (it's confusable with real life). Ever wanted to fly? You can do it in a lucid dream. Ever wanted to talk with a celebrity? Lucid dream. And what's cool is that you can also use the time to learn a new skill or something while asleep which is cool! I'm trying to get these dreams but not really succeeding yet. I've had one short one where I got attacked by weird creatures and then I woke up lmao.

well I actually kinda have a hack for these. the only time I ever dream is when I am exhausted. So what I do is I'll go gym, drain myself then have a hot shower and I'll be dead then when I fall asleep I lucid dream. another is to remember your last though before you sleep. after a few days you start to remember your dreams and they become lucid

That makes sense. Thanks!

50 it’s fine generally. Just don’t do what i did and mess with stuff like WBTB, ADA and other extreme techniques. Bad for your health.

Hmm, ok. But thanks for all your tips! Really appreciate it!

I did dream journaling on my phone a while ago and I consistently remembered like 2 dreams every night (pretty vivid). Some really cool ones as well. I don't know if that's good though.

APersonWhoYoyos
57 np! Not trying to discourage trying it at all. Just don’t let it become your life. It was mine for awhile and that’s not healthy.
raffa8

It's easy to develop an addiction right?

APersonWhoYoyos
58 that’s quite good. I personally recommend writing by hand in a journal as I find the habit sticks easier and the positive effects are stronger for me. In my dream journal peak I remembered 2-4 dreams per night.

Wow, ok.
