I'm offended every time someone tries to push their eclectic playlists on the innocent public.

there's some stuff on there that's not terribly eclectic

like are rush and pink floyd and mf doom really that weird. maybe to zoomies listening to ariana grande or anime soundtracks

I think just about every playlist is eclectic, unless it's literally just the Top 40 for that week or whatever. I just have to be able to understand who the artist is, where they come from, what part of the genre they represent and stuff like that. I can't stand to just hear noise if I can't integrate it into a logical structure like that. It's a serious handicap for me in this deconstructed postmodern alienation zone called life.

It's like a chess game lol. The Top 40 is the opening setting. Replace one song on it with one of your choosing, that's one move. Ten moves in, everyone's playlist is unique but there's a definite trend established. Replace the whole playlist, and no two are the same, even if all the participants just stick to whatever is in the popular scene.

interdasting analogy

this playlist goes roughly from slowest (drone, ambient) to fastest (grind, speedcore), kinda meanders a bit since I didn't know how to actually organize this lol. intent was to just have a playlist where you could click on any song at random and get something "good" from a huge array of genres

I made a short playlist in a club yesterday, of some of the songs that I remember hearing when I was a kid. In spite of the effort, I'm going to copy it out like it sits right now. I'll probably keep adding to it. I can hardly believe that I can still remember hearing these songs, and I still think of them as the songs that I used to hear on the radio a lot.

Blind Melon - No Rain
Collective Soul - Shine
Nirvana - All Apologies
Fastball - The Way
The Tokens - The Lion Sleeps Tonight
The Beatles - Yellow Submarine
Green Day - Good Riddance
Gin Blossoms - Hey Jealousy
Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle
Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away

I just thought to add
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge + Scar Tissue
Tom Petty - You Don't Know How It Feels + Mary Jane's Last Dance + Don't Come Around Here No More
Wallflowers - One Headlight

That list seems perfectly inevitable to me as the list of songs that I most remember from childhood, but obviously for other people it would be a lot different. 😄

yellow submarine and fly like an eagle are the only good songs on that list imo lol

if fly like an eagle pops up on the radio or something I am rocking the hell out
