OK what really gets my goat is the players who are losing abandoning /disconnecting ,not a word said then occassionally they pop back to see if you've abandoned , this is a pure waste of my time and theirs , why don't they man up and resign .

also the jumoed up little oiks who try to put you off by abusing you till you switch off chat, l thought chess was played by intelligent people ,perhaps it is but they left their manners back in their prams.

ohh and the braggers, internet chess warriors arms pumping the air, gosh they won a game of chess not brought down governments.

rant over.....you may continue

Talking about manners! At the end of each game whether win lose or draw I always say well played to my opposite number, but I can't believe the number who never reply back.

it doesn't cost a penny to reply back and it shows good sportsmenship. maybe chess.com should add a handshake button for the start and end of each game.

I don't rant. I accept that with three million plus members, there will be a rather large number of people who: a) are immature or have low self-esteem, b) don't know chess etiquette, c) simply enjoy aggravating others, or d) you-fill-in-the-blanks. Life is too short to engage more than a heartbeat in trying to figure out why, much less thinking one can fix it somehow. Learn how to a:) weather it without care, b) disable chat, c) Block Member, or ... well, you get the idea.Smile

I also attribute a large measure of rudeness to immaturity and people with personality disorders. Thankfully, I find the majority to be polite and mature.
