Pick a clear, windy day out in the countryside with plenty of clouds. Lay on your back and observe the clouds transversing the sky.

They move uniformaly, with equal spacing. Right ?

Why is that , Should they not bunch up from the rear, from the direction the wind is blowing?

Any Triple Nine Society Members can answer me this ?

while you are at it, you will do us a favour if you spare us of your personal beliefs, no pun intended, but many of us, me included, are allergic

And that statement is not Your personal belief ? I can smell someone looking for a fight miles off. You're wasting your breath. Good luck in your chess games...it might come in handy when you most need it.

I had a really weird dream last nite. I don't wanna say too much except that a short sleeve red tee-shirt I was wearing was a mirror & that I was in short-term jail & hating it.

wow

It actually turned nitemarish after the T-shirt thingy & I just wanted outta the dream (I have lucid dreams sometimes). But the guards said I hadta go back into the jail cell. Then a couple things happened that I don't really remember and then I woke up.

In waking up I was scared for like two hours & couldn't get back to sleep. Funny in that I rarely wear T-shirts....let alone a red one.

They are already cursed with the rather unflattering label of ‘vertically challenged’.

Now experts say short people may also be intellectually challenged too - or at least in comparison to their taller counterparts.

A new study has found a link between IQ and height, suggesting that those who are shorter are on average more likely to be less intelligent.

Academics identified genes that influence both height and IQ, and said there was a ‘significant genetic correlation’ between the two factors.

The research, which covered more than 6,800 unrelated people, is the first to analyse DNA markers in such a way.

Riccardo Marioni, from Edinburgh University’s Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine, said the link was small but important.

He said: ‘We tested whether DNA-based genetic similarities among people related to their similarities in height and intelligence.

‘Previous studies have used twin or family data to examine similarities between height and intelligence, whereas ours was the first to examine this using actual DNA markers in unrelated people.

‘What we found was a small association between height and intelligence such that people who are taller tend to be smarter.’

The claim is likely to be disputed by millions in Britain who fall short of the average height, 5ft 3in for women and 5ft 9in for men.

One is certain to be John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons, who at 5ft 5ins is dwarfed by his 5ft 11in wife, Sally.

Was Goliath the intelligent one at war with David?

As you may know that ancient time is overwhelmed with giants. But evolution and environment is giving a favor on short people. There are some roles about big men in society. They are to be a leader or villains that was society will against with. Therefore i think humanity tend to be shorter from era to era.

I think human origin is from giants rather than from apes.

Height could be as important to success (in most societies) as being smart. I find it hard to believe that someone is smarter 'cuz they're taller. It could be that opportunity opens for taller people which begets them experience which can make a false positive as to how their intelligence they really are since perception can be one's reality.

The_Ghostess_Lola

Most all people will say that real self-confidence (not the fake cocky type) gives off a certain "I'm intelligent" aura.

Intelligence is just sexy !

83. I totally agree, did I ever tell you about special relativity Lola?
The_Ghostess_Lola

I'm not asserting that the more intelligent u are the sexier u are. There's diminishing marginal returns going on there.

Same thing with size. Size does matter ! But being 7 feet tall or just 6 foot 2 gets back to DMR's.

The_Ghostess_Lola

I mean look at the IQ of Marilyn vos Savant (185+ ?). With an IQ that high, every guy she meets is gonna be subb to her. That's not gonna eliminate that person as a potential mate. Tho' I'm pretty sure they'd hafta be able to hold their own.

Personally ?....I find cerebrals (those that seem to think & analyze too much ?)....kinda turnoffish. I feel as tho' they're sucking the energy outta me. And that may be why they've become that way 'cuz they derive energy from others. IDK.

I do feel tho' that we selfishly seek energy from others that we come across....and we don't even know we're doing it. It's just innate from Day One.

I mean does anyone remember being breastfed ?

The_Ghostess_Lola

Is pure intelligence passed down from your ancestry ?....I would think so.

When u hear a parents talking about their child doing good in school, is it meant to be a direct reflection upon how smart the parents themselves are ?

OneThousandEightHundred18
Intelligence is certainly inherited but there is more to it than just that. For example the way the intelligence mixes between mom and dad and which pieces of each you take with you, it's only some of each, not all of both. Also upbringing and education play a role in developing critical thought processes.
DeepFlight12

Am I wasting my money on these smart pills ?

Ok.. OK .. I left myself wide open for "smart" comebacks, but they came with a money back guarantee. I took a before test. The after test I suspect will be easier. I think I'll out smart em and get a refund.

....which to me says that intelligence has half to do w/ surroundings, yes ?

I wanna know how much hasta do w/ environment & what % hasta do w/ raw passdown brains.

Cannibals believed by eating their rivals (brains) they'd gain the wisdom and power of their adversary.

The_Ghostess_Lola

And something else. Right now everyone is focused on the science-mind 'cuz it's so important these days. Will this trend continue ?

Maybe in 150 years from now, comm acumen or art prowess will be the measuring stix & science....'cuz it had exhausted itself ?....won't be any big deal. Saying that a math or logic-based test, like today's IQ rigors from the TNS or Mega "daddy" or Prometheus, will be the subservient undercard.

I'm thinking right now that IQ is fluid & that what's hot today won't be 2morrowyear.

Sorry if I'm being the rambling blabby, but I feel better now that it's all outta me.
