McDonald’s ice cream problem

Explanation of why the ice cream machines are always broken (I was asked for it, so here it is)

As McDonald’s was growing bigger as a company, they wanted to start supplying ice cream as an item on the menu. Logically, to do this, they would also need an ice cream machine, which could be bought from various manufacturers. They decided to sign a contract with Taylor Company (big mistake) to supply them with ice cream machines. However, in the contract, Taylor Company said that only authorized Taylor technicians could repair the broken/damaged machines. At the time, McDonald’s thought that this would be no big deal, so they signed the contract. Now that Taylor Company has the power to be the only ones to fix the machines, they started using faulty or worn down equipment in the machines, so McDonald’s would have to pay them more often to repair them, making Taylor Company more money. Once McDonald’s realized this, they immediately wanted to get out of the contract, but since it is legally binding, they are unable to, unless Taylor Company agrees to demolish the contract. (This would be very hard to do, however, because Taylor Company would make a lot more money to just stay in the contract). Since McDonald’s had to pay for repairs all the time because of the faulty machinery, most locations decided to just keep the machines broken to save money, leading to today’s problem of the ice cream machines being constantly broken.
(Not all information is available to the public, so I probably am missing a few minor details, but the base idea is there)

Same. I don’t think I’ve ever been denied an ice cream because of a broken machine. Maybe I’m just lucky?
