Metric Time

Even though I generally prefer the imperial system when it comes to things like driving..etc, I think there should be a version of time measurement in multiples of 10, because 60/24/7/12/365 don't make as much sense. What if a minute was 100 seconds, an hour was 100 mins, a day was 10 hours, a year was 100 days..etc. Now obviously this would screw up days being based on the sun and daytime/nighttime hours, but keeping that aside for now. Or even something that wasn't all 10s but everything divisible by 10, such as 50 seconds/50 mins/ 30 hours / 400 days..etc. And actually there  are around 31-32 million seconds in a year, so a 100/100/30/100 seconds-through-years configuration would be 30,000,000 seconds total, which is pretty close proportionally.

Feel free to also debate metric vs imperial in general. For example I think temperature should be in Kelvin's, neither C or F, because 0 should be absolute zero. Negative numbers don't make much sense with that. But out of the choice of C or F I think F is better because the scale makes more sense. The temps on the Earth tend to stay between -100 and +100 F, with 0 in the middle. I don't think negative temps should be a thing but if we are going to use negatives, then 0 should be in the middle. Even the record +/- temps are around the same, 130, just flipping the sign. Celsius on the other hand makes no sense for everyday things, like it's harder to "tell" how hot or cold something is on a scale from -25 to + 50, with "nice" weather being around +28. I agree Metric should be used for most measurements, including time, but not temperature. What do you think?

So, there are 1440 minutes per day, right? We would have to find a system to fit these 1440 minutes evenly between each hour, no matter what. We could do more minutes per hour. Say we have 18 hours per day with 80 minutes in each hour. but, with all of this being said, you cannot decrease or increase time in each day and can certainly not add or subtract days from a calendar year, since like you said, the earth's revolution and rotation on its axis would screw up seasons and everything like that. I think the current system of time is fine, and we've gotten super used to it by now, and I see no problems with how it works.

I think both systems are fine. I use Fahrenheit, but I know people from other places use Celsius. Both are fine, and have the same facts, but just depend on where people live. Point is, both systems give the same information, and both can work. It's just whatever you're used to.

For long, long time ago the French, that came up with the metric systems tried similar ideas. However the time measurement is based upon the 360 degree of a circle, a very ingenious invention going back to the...

The French maybe failed, however you are welcome to try it out for yourself. Who knows, maybe you will succeed.

What other American would suggest using Kelvins for temp?

As basix explained yeah the nights would be ridiculously jacked up and days... The structure is yes properly already set and correct, yet I'm in complete agreement regarding removing the negative aspect of no need to temps, absolutely.

France tried this after the french revolution and gave up on it

The 360 degree circle's neck-size is very similar to Khabib Nurmagomedov. "The guillotine" could not decapitate it.

Lmao that sh!t is so asinine 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That's 60,000,000 seconds, which would be double the normal seconds in a year.
