Music?
This should be in off topic
This is in off topic, and I know you just want to be snarky and pessimistic about my forum posts, but I don't feel mad about it. You are free to have your opinions, and this forum is about opinions.
I don't think music helps my chess at all. In fact, I think it minimalizes it.

My stepper gon' brush him if I press the button, too drippy to scuffle
@BoardMonkey thank you for the opinion, maybe it is just me but chess feels to quiet with no music. Please stay on topic Dbaker guy, unless that is cryptic for some reap terms.

Philip Glass is a minimalist composer. Lousy pun. I know.
hey wait I wanna test playing chess but playing it on beat with my music
ill test it and tell ya'll how it goes :]
@rosebl22 sure? I will check out that song. Also, funny you shoved Geometry Dash into your quote, I played it and learned about NCS from it. I think that the newer NCS isn't the best for focus though.
Yeah, maybe music does fight focus. It helps with creative work (writing forum comments, designing new chess pieces) but doesn't add any to strategic work (playing chess)

I know that you all look on me like I am a random 620 chess player who spends too much time on forums. In reality, chess matters to me second most next to music.
I prefer bass/electronic, but I find that "focus music" does not always help me focus. I like lots of clean, usually instrumental music but it doesn't always seem to help me focus and I want a community opinion. If you have any certain songs or specific subgenres (electronic/phonk) feel free to share.
I am really just looking for some logic supporting how certain music helps focus, specifically chess.
