tho i think that most people who can solve it just learn some algorithms instead of actually inventing the solution on their own...
I've heard it took Erno Rubik about a month to figure it out for the first time. So yes, most people (I'd say about 99.99 percent) learn to solve it using algorithms, which they memorize. But even people who do figure it out for themselves, do it by making up their own algorithms...which they then memorize.
I’m the 0.01%. I’ve never wasted even a thought of picking up the toy puzzle. But if you find it challenging and stimulating, go for it and be the best at it you can be.
