"Why let your brother live when you could have just had all the bread. It's your life, and you decided to live for another man. That was stupid. You should have just killed him and eaten all the bread, which would have helped you in the long run. Instead you follow your conscience and let him live."
My Thread
He tells the Rationalist that he simply knew it was right to let his brother live. The Rationalist bends the rules and tries to use logic to have his way, but the man goes with his gut to save his brother because deep down he knows it's the right decision, even through he cannot explain why.
When men are asked "Why did you kill him not?" He responds with "Doesn't feel right." However, he is asked "You could have killed him and taken all the bread, but instead you spared his life and sacrificed part of the bread to feed him. Why?" He will say it was because it felt wrong. The Rationalist will tell him that he is stupid and that killing his brother was the smarter and more logical option. The Rationalist tells him that he is an idiot and that he had no reason to let his brother live.
