The chesskid site is not for teenagers. They are sent here. And childrend parents do monitor thier activity. they dont expect lewd behavior, comments and photos on a CHESS site

why do we still have censorships...is it because only a few chess staff members deems it necessary on what we can and cannot see or read for fear of mass raping in our society..or maybe they are bowing down to some of the high paying sponsors of this chess site...

Because the Terms of Service on which everyone signed off dicate a certain level of behavior, conduct and deportment, all spelled out quite clearly.  Mods simply enforce these rules.

terms of service can be ammended and improved...

The Terms of Service as they exist now are precisely what you agreed to when you joined. Since you apparently had no issue with agreeing to them in order to play and socialize here, for free I might add, I see no grounds for complaints.

of course we all abide by the rules...but as I re-eterated...rules can be altered for the majority good...when rules have flaws should we just run away or fix it...Maybe a staff meeting is in order to go over your rules again...We have come a long way when vulgarity was not permitted for children to hear, speak and read...

I think the rules as they are serve the majority.  I don't see why the least-common-denominator should be a goal to strive towards.

every computer has a chip that can block sites...it is the responsibility of the parent to activate what sites are not appropiate for their child...if they choose chess.com....fine...but dont block the liberty of free speach to appease only a few...

thinking is not reality...do a vote for club members only...

You have not a clue as to what the Liberty of free speech entails. You're just a kid, who thinks anything should be allowed, anytime. Someday in your future, you'll realize it just is not so.

"Maybe a staff meeting is in order to go over your rules again".                                                          The mods ARE having a meeting as we speak.Cool

Are they coming in peace?

Too funny

Well, as batgirl said, you agreed to abide by the TOS and rules. No one should have to rearrange the rules to suit the few that can't follow the rules they agreed to abide by in the first place. period.

the few you mentioned are the silent majority...

sleepingbeauty

I highly doubt that. There are 10's of thousands of members in here at any given time. You are the silent minority.

we can go back and forth on this but we both do not know as you do not have the facts to back that claim...

sleepingbeauty

And neither do you. But its not rocket science. Children make up a large part of the members here. My guess is your not a parent most parents would be disturbed with inappropriate content on a chess site.

frankooo

Of course not...we both do not know if you understood my previous opinion...Its the same old addage... if I had a daughter...if I had a son...would I allow this....would I allow that...As a parent I would activate the chip that prevents children from viewing what is objectable...when they reach their teenage years they have a little more maturity and could decide for themselves what is objectable or not...

batgirl

There seems to be a misapprehension that this site is a democracy.

The point still remains that a parent shouldn't have to "activate" that so called "chip" on a chess site that clearly defines its terms of service to begin with.

frankooo

well...you have not convinced me that the vast majority of members are kids..including the sponsorship ads on this site that are aimed for teens and adults..This is my last response as we seem to agree on disagreeing..This is still the most entertaining chess web site compared to others...Smile
