My Name is Monte I am kind of new here meaning I've had a very long, noticeable break. So if anyone feels like adding me as a friend have at it  

Still trying to figure out this page, I never realized until now this is a community page. Looking forward to getting to maybe play with one of you one day. For now, I have to practice. That being said, all tips (beginner level) are highly appreciated.

My everyday life contains studying literary science, practicing karate, and I'm a motivator and life coach. Then the bouldering, loud loud laughter, mountains, and my crazy puppy dog., So I withdraw to chess to have a place to just relax and puzzle while listening to music

chess is a wonderful metaphor for life. it's a rewarding process to be involved in learning and synthesizing your knowledge by absorbing strategies and ideas both by playing and studying games, the more you learn the better you will become and it's just like any other activity where investing time and energy pays off in the end! and it's a lot of fun to see how much progress you make over time ^_^

Hi, I'm a new member also. I joined because I really enjoy chess but want to get better. I'm a teacher and always start he year teaching all of my students chess.  Hope to meet some nice people to play and to make friends.

@brianchesscake Haha yes is what I think too  I figured I needed to get back to chess just too. My attention span studying and practicing karate can vary so I figured that this might help my brain learn how to stay focused, and just accept slow but good progress, I am the kinda person who loves to see result instantaneously or else I can get easily bored.   I remember when I was 15 I played a 5 and half hour game I was almost crying on my chair rolling around the room between moves simply just to not go insane, so remembering that I was thinking, "yeah" might do me good.  I do find I really enjoy doing puzzles

@Michael_Dee Wow that is so admirable, I have a teen daughter who loves to play chess, so when people play against her she actually gets very happy, I find a lot of her friends enjoy the game, which is kinda contrary to what many think, that kids hate chess... And it's a beautiful gift to give them really  I am not a solid player but I would love to play against you sometime and thank you for posting on my thread its good to not be the only noob going Helloooo people of chess.com  

 

@ANOK1  Thank you so much, so far ive met and spoken to amazing people here and played some games  It's a lovely place  I find coming home being tired looking forward to just listen to music and play chess and relax
