I’m quite conflicted as to whether there is meaning to life, and believing that we create meaning is comforting to me, but I just don’t know if the cynical life is for me. Thoughts?

Depends on your thoughts on why this all came to be. If you don't see the significance of our life-sustaining rock in the midst of a gigantic universe filled with debris and death (hey, that sounds quite poetic!) then you're a bona fide nihilist in my book.
