another one Kay. Are you finished? Or do you want to take another potshot?

Avatar of tomtrytostay

sure. And I can't deny I'm irritating. But you know I mean well and I'm sure you do too.

I guess maybe a point came when I became the sport to you. It was a little nicer before but it's true that you are bascially a decent guy with a fabulous sense of humour. You sure play rough at times though and humour is not a justification to be offensive.

look Kay I don't mean to be all judgemental. The truth is that I know we are all equal and all worthwhile. We all naturally care and we all have needs.

Anyway good luck to you.

So how come you guys that know so much about nirvana have never experienced it?

Also how is it you're certain it's there if you've never saw it ?

Bless you Nikprit. Thank you for taking the time to clearly explain your position to me .

I guess it's fair to say we have contradictory views . I absolutely accept though that you have good intentions and I accept too that whatever I think it's possible that your view is perfectly correct .

Good luck to you too and say what you want when you want . I accept you .

Children please!  There are more things to be concerned about than who has the better game.  Chess anyone?

so have we captured what Nirvana is?

These guys that have experienced it, do they contribute anything special to socitey or is it more for their own benefit?

I can't think of a modern figure particularly helping anyone having become elightened. Am I wrong?

Yes, I think you are wrong.  You don't need to go to a modern figure to check it out.  Stay with checking out the Buddha.  The writings are sometimes very difficult to get through but in a mere 12 years your understanding will make great strides.  And nobody but you needs to know.  Soon, you will just be chopping wood and carrying water, much to your own delight.

Where's troy?  Maybe he's looking for his 'self'.

I can't fid him either--and that is Nirvana.

The quip master has resurfaced...but without the answers to the questions posed.

Tom, if you really are serious about hearing about this stuff, my non-offensive advice would be not to seek it out in a forum.  Forums are notorious for taking things into the abyss.  There is no enlightenment in a forum.  You need face to face experience so the internet in any form may lead to frustration.  Try a sangha.

Okay thank you sir .

Have you seen my new forum what are we ? The solution .

I'm not entirely sure if I'm at the truth or as it's as Nikprit says that the mind can't bring clarity or peace .

I do trust myself though . I trust myself because I do see love within me actually .

So I do have some certainty that what I am is love .

Anyway I enjoyed your posts. I genuinely am interested in the topic .

Have the enlightened people changed society ?

Or maybe they see that that's something to aspire to .

I'm just curious about what the effect nirvana would have on a person's place in society .

Sentence by sentence:

No I have not seen your new forum.

Nikprit says the mind cannot bring clarity or peace?  What does?

...certainty what I am is love.  You are a Bhakti Yogi.  Check it out.

Enlightened people (?) have changed society.  But they do it on the 'down low'.  They just keep chopping wood and carrying water.

Nirvana's effect on a person's place in society is sometimes quite subtle and really depends on who is on the receiving end.  Some dogs will bite even the nicest and wisest of people.  Don't worry about that.  The world is the world and always will be.

Avatar of tomtrytostay

Wow thank you for that . I'm going to look into your suggestion .

I agree about the world . Nelson Mandela saw a greater truth and wasn't loved for it .

I heard something once but I don't know if it's true . I heard that there is a historic reference to Jesus outside of the bible .

All this reference said was there lived a man that United Romans and Jews and was persecuted for it .

That sounds about right . The peacemakers sure don't have any peace .

Avatar of xming

Blessed be the peacemakers....

Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's...

Avatar of tomtrytostay

I'm just thinking though I don't mind so much whether I've discovered the truth or not . If I've found a peace that's what matters to me .
