I certainly get that to relax is good for us . I presume though that the whole meditation nirvana thing is more than that .

Many people relax with Frank Sinatra and a glass of whisky but I doubt that's meditation .

Unless you mean that the relaxation is so profound it changes how we think about ourselves and our lives .

That was fun to read !
So you're saying if you're enlightened you live in permanent bliss ! I like that idea !

I'm not sure that's a healthy thing though .

I read about some people that were supposedly enlightened .

One was a mother who's child had died and she was perpetually sunny . I think that might be a struggle for the other relatives involved .

I tend to think Estren was about right when he talked of acknowledging emotions like hate exist but not attaching to them .

Saying all that I get that we can accept and come to terms with the world .

I think actually I do experience no thought and bliss .

This bliss though I'd describe as feeling love.

And yet I never hear anyone talk about the experience of being love , which is a genuine surprise to me .

Lucien 110 . I like that . I feel there is a place for humour in every conversation .

Actually it reminds me that whether or not you believe in free will you still do the dishes .

I have to admit that though I hold it to be true that free will doesn't exist , I find that I can't function unless I act as though it does . I have to take the view I have a choice for my mind to function normally .

getting back to the boy in the queue for a moment, where did he vanish to ? you were in the process of thinking a thought, then before you completed that thought another took over. is that how you get a definitive answer to a question tom ? or is that how all your questions remain unanswered, though it looks like they got resolved by an unrelated thought springing up.

Oh my point was that in that scenario we all would agree that a person could see something wasn't right .
First step .

The second step is that we want to put things right no?

But why ? Why is that ?

I'm saying the fact we care may hint at a true self or perhaps it might just be a result of chemicals nature hade a part of us .

I suppose I'm talking about love .

As for what happened to him . Well did you try to help ?

Often we stand by and watch suffering no? It's interesting how sometimes we do and sometimes we don't . I suspect the biggest reason we allow it is because we are fearful .

You have three choices in the grain scenario...take on the big guy to get the boy's grain back, do nothing, or share your grain. I favour the last option. Why do we care about it? I suppose because we can put ourselves in the position of another, empathy, and do what we'd want someone to do for us.

so the new thought keeps springing in before the last one completes. and that's how to make a topic eternal.

then you say "i suppose I'm talking about love", yet you were talking about something else.

ask tom about the price of cheese and gravity and steve hawkers and love and chemical imbalances won't be far away.

Nice Fh 143.
So it's a little like we superimpose ourselves onto them and in a way we are addressing the needs of the imaginary us .

That sounds a bit like how the likes of Darwin perceive that human nature is loving at times naturally . Without any free choice as such , just natural evolution .

Maybe the love I see inside of myself is nothing more than a natural chemical then .

You could go on a killing spree Fh , or emigrate to the Bahamas . I guess one of the beautiful things about life is there are a lot of options . Having said that we are a slave to the wage .

#152: yep, but that doesn't make it less worthy, maybe the opposite.
