No No No. A Tankard is a precious thing. Essentially, a cup of a certain size filled with local brew. You could take your own to said Tavern & keep it behind the bar. Often made of pewter & often inscribed. It's an old tradition. If you had one with a glass-bottem, you wouldn't be tricked into joining the British Navy. But that's another story.
Tankards are good. 
Back in the day, obviously. We don't conscript at all these days.
I dont think they would want me in the British Navy...
