Non Chess Books

Hey!  Any big readers out there? Not talking chess books for once.

I've been reading a lot the past few years. I love educational books on topics of interest, fiction, classics, and many more! Would love to hear other people's favourites.  My favourite fiction author has to be John Grisham or Mitch Albom currently.

Recently read a classic that is studied in some high schools called Flowers For Algernon. Amazing, insightful, sad, and highly recommend to anyone! Just finished Memoirs of an Addicted Brain, by Marc Lewis which I didn't love so much.

Just started The Green Mile today by Stephen King. Only read The Shining by him.. not huge into fantasy type themes, but looking forward to this book! No spoilers please 😁  Haven't seen the movie yet either.

Please put flowers in the bak yard for Algernon.

I used to read a lot but the internet has made finding information so much faster and easier. I still occasionaly pick up a book. I'm supposed to be reading "Crazy Horse and Custer" by Stephen Ambrose but I haven't picked it up in a while. I got tired trying to imagine where events were taking place so I traced the Missouri River and most major tributaries on Google Earth. Now when the book says something took place near the headwaters of the Wind River I can just check the box and it pops up onscreen. I've been itching to get back to the book so I'm sure I'll pick it up again soon.

Ya no denying that!  Unfortunately I found myself staring at a screen way, way too often.. Think that's why I started trying to read more.  But yes, the internet is an endless great resource. If it comes down to reading a longer book though, definitely prefer it not being on a screen.

I do not know Crazy Horse and Custer. Will have to look that one up!
