This app is actually free to use, but if you want more functionality you could upgrade to PRO, I use the PRO version because it’s dirt cheap and I like the additional functionality that comes with it.

I’m not informed on this subject. Only reason I knew about Notesnook to begin with was from watching Techlore from youtube, the guy who focuses on privacy related stuff. 
As you can see in this mail, they say they are 3 years old, so you might be right about the audits. You most likely know more than me on this matter 🙂

I’ve been using apple for years and also their notes, but their notes doesn’t work across all platforms.
This Note app has more functionality than apple’s notes.
