NOVAK DJOKOVIC
Really ? Interesting. And yes - its easy to find on google just by copy/pasting the quoted post into the search box.
Maybe somebody's egging on the lad. His lawyers maybe.
I hope he loses - there's a flip side of him doing this ...
but its hard to mention without bringing up the forbidden subjects.
He should just drop it. If he goes ahead with that, it's not doing him any favours of getting back into the country any time soon, considering he could get a 3 year ban anyway.
I believe he already is banned for three years ... just checked on google.
but would a lawsuit against the same government help get that reduced ?
somehow ... nyet.
Apparently the French Open now not too keen on letting him in either.
Wimbledon? I hope they wake up too and keep him out.
Correct.
Plus - I played a youtube of Djokovic's US Open final with Medvedev.
They had many rallies and good points -
but Medvedev rolled right through ... 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
'Med' might actually be the best player in the world right now.
Want to see some high-level tennis? this is it ...

Medvedev is my pick. He's got a huge serve, and the Aussie coach Darren Cahill was saying that, unlike most players whose shots taper off at the end, Medvedev, who is 6"6", often hits his strokes so hard that they hit the opponent's racquet at the same pace.
But he's been able to play on a world-best level into his mid-thirties because - among other things - he's so well-conditioned.
He might be the most 'conditioned' player ever?
But so many of the top pros are. Constant heavy training.
Djokovic's control of the #1 spot in tennis began with three major titles of the four in 2011.
Apparently the switch away from foods containing Gluten -at that time - was an enormous breakthrough for him ...
Suddenly he was the #1 player in the world -
and for over ten years now since then !
(while Nadal and Federer some of the time got the spot - maybe Murray had it briefly)
Nadal has had a congenital foot problem since his teens and he can't fix it. He has found ways to alleviate the pain, but it's got worse the last few years. He's a step slower and it's restricting some of his shots at the AO. I doubt if he'll ever win another Grand Slam tournament.
We'll see. Nadal has been the best ever at the French Open - a clay tournament with much more shots and court coverage per point than the other Slams. Yes?
@AussieRookie you could be right.
Nadal hasn't won a Major since the 2020 French Open?
I think I'll check the latest Australian scores to see how he's doing ...
Nadal is up two sets to none in his fourth round match in the Australian.
4th of seven matches.
The #2 and #3 and #4 seeds also seem to be 'rolling' along.
There is no #1 seed - he was Deported !
(I'm picking Nadal to win the French if Djokovic is kept out of it - which looks like it will be the case. And if they met in that final I would still pick Nadal in that case even though he lost to Djokovic last time there)
Nadal has an absolutely Wicked forehand. Its got to be the best forehand Ever? Also - his topspin gives players trouble. The spin has actually been measured ! Something like 3000 revs/minute compared with other pros 2000 revs/minute.
In other Australian news - Cilic and Monfils still alive and kicking in the fourth round !
Its beginning to look now like Novak will be allowed to play in the French Open and Wimbledon.
He would be the favorite at Wimbledon I think. But Nadal at the French.
And apparently Novak will play in Dubai - much earlier than that.
In the meantime the Australian Open has been very interesting this year. With a possible showdown coming up between Nadal and Medvedev in the final.
Nadal is 3-1 against Medvedev in their matches.
And Medvedev barely got past a Canadian in the quarterfinals - was down match point. Has to now get past Tsitipas.
And Nadal has to get back Berretini.
I'd like to see Nadal win the tournament - but he's not in the finals yet.
In the women's - #1 seed Ash Barty has been cruising through the draw magnificently. She's in the final - without the loss of a set and only losing a service game once. Faces the hard hitting Danielle Collins of the US.
Who was not favored to reach the finals.
The women's final is at 8:30am GMT - less than five hours from now.
Ash Barty has played so greatly to get to the final. Crushingly in fact.
I hope she wins it. If Danielle Collins wins it would be a huge 'upset'.
And now the men's final is set too.
And its ideal. Nadal versus Medvedev.
I hope Nadal wins - even though 'Med' also deserves to win.
That final is on Sunday - but its in Melbourne Australia which means it will still be mid Saturday in many parts of the world.
Are Nadal and Federer and Djokovic still playing just to compete for the all time Majors record ?
I don't think so - even in these final stages of their careers they can make a gigantic amount of money. Including in endorsements.
Eventually - the body just can't do it anymore.
That's what's happened to Andy Murray - and is now happening to Federer.
Djokovic is the most injury-free of the bunch.
Medvedev is the first player to break into the top two ranking spots in the world in 17 years. Otherwise its the big Four. Which includes Murray.
And Nadal of course. Only two players have a winning record against him.
Compared with six ahead of Djokovic it seems.
