My typo / auto-correct story:

I used to write strategy articles for a wargames forum.

I wrote one called "Best soak-off ship for Carrier Task Forces"... except that either auto-correct or my own clumsy typing inadvertently replaced the "p" in "ship" with a "t".

This rather changed the meaning of the article's title. I contacted a Moderator to get the mistake corrected... but he told me that he liked it fine just as it was, and declined to change it.

I ended up joining the Moderation team on that forum, just so that I would have the account permissions to change that title from a profanity back to "ship".

1. Woah LOL. A moderator liked it that way? 2. You mean a news blog?

No, not a blog... strategy articles on a wargames forum.

Some of them got hundreds of thousands of views.

Here are a few:

The 455,000 view thread was particularly popular...

Hearts of Iron II is a grand strategy computer war game for the PC based upon its predecessor, Hearts of Iron, which was developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive.

It takes place in the time period from 1 January 1936 through 30 December 1947 (1964 with the expansion), and allows the player to assume control of any one of over 175 nations of the time and guide its development through the years before, during and after the Second World War

Yup. Nowadays, I play HOI-4, instead of HOI-2.
