Sure, I've used this function. And I will continue using it. I would certainly block somebody who started insulting me in the chat. Why would I want to meet them ever again? I also, automatically, block anybody who, instead of resigning a game, chooses to let the time run out. Isn't it obvious they do it to spite me? I don't know what they are thinking -- probably that winning against them deserves some punishment. Ridiculous.
Also, I can't really see the point of your postulate. Nobody gets hurt by being blocked by one other player. Somebody doesn't like me -- for any reason, even the most absurd one: say, they hate people using cat pictures as avatars :) -- and they block me. So what? They have the right to avoid the upset of playing somebody that irritates them, and that's that. I'm totally cool with it.

And how does this deeply philosophical remark correspond to anything I wrote? Do I understand it correctly: you are a huge fan of people calling you names in chat and you just love to sit out, say, two minutes waiting to see if your opponent walked out of the game or if they are perhaps planning on coming back, making a move and hoping to catch you out distracted and no longer paying attention to the board? If so, then indeed, your remark was worth reading.

I once blocked a guy @MiddeGamerUmesh cuz he said i was more like a girl that a guy and I replied "@MiddlegamerUmesh, you are a judgmental piece of shit" he blocked me, and I blocked him in return

@MiddleGamerUmesh, is a great player, he had about my rating 1700 blitz, but he beat +2000 elo players. He play at the same level as CarpetNoctur, chessguy, Smylosfav. He´s a excelent player. But I'm surprised it was rough.
