hmm.. i think not but the tortoises will be safe though...unless the cat knows how to kick them out of the house.
My mum is getting 2 tortoises.

It's a pity you don't have a family pet rabbit. You could have organised a race to resolve an interesting philosophical puzzle: which is faster - a tortoise or a rabbit?
Since you're fairly speedy yourself, perhaps a race between you and the tortoises would go some way towards solving the conundrum.
Cat vs. Rabbit vs. Human vs. Tortois vs. Gold Fish vs. Your mom.
That would be one hell of a race.

I had a turtleneck when I was younger - perhaps that was a reason I couldn't run very fast.
Has no one heard of - Slow and steady wins the race!!! :) The tortoises will be good at that.
very bad situation to the tortoise... sad. hmmm!
