It's a pity you don't have a family pet rabbit. You could have organised a race to resolve an interesting philosophical puzzle: which is faster - a tortoise or a rabbit?

Since you're fairly speedy yourself, perhaps a race between you and the tortoises would go some way towards solving the conundrum.
