Old TV Shows
Other T.V. westerns were Cheyenne, Broken Arrow, Sugarfoot, Yancey Derringer and the Range Rider and Judge Roy Bean just to think of a few.
Thanks for the updates. I liked Bea Arthur in "Maude " however I didn't see many of the " Golden Girls " shows. The shift that I was on at the time interfered with my TV viewing lol.
There were a lot of Westerns out there at one time. Pat Boone returned to TV in a show called " Heck Ramsey " but it didn't last too long.

Or do you mean Richard Boone?
And speaking of Richard Boone...does anyone remember what TV show he starred in before Have Gun Will Travel? I do! I do! [raises hand] It was a doctor show called (ta-daa) Medic. Every episode began with a closeup of his mug, wherein he is stating "My name is Conrad Steiner."
Thanks for the info Javan64. I got confused there as I had heard Pat on the radio earlier today and got him mixed up with Richard ( I'm confused often lol ). Also I had never seen the first show Richard Boone starred in, I'm sure some of the other visitors to this thread will remember tho.
Thanks for the post 1Pawndown. Yes I liked " All In The Family " as well, Caroll O'Connor was certainly the right guy to play Archie. Then they created the spin-off series called " The Jeffersons " which was not bad either. Of course TV Producers were able to use the spin-off idea quite a few times over the years.
Yes Gilligan's Island was funny, I also liked The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, Andy Griffith, Barney Miller, The Munsters, The Addams Family etc etc.
I dearly love Don Knott's character on Andy Griffith, Barney Fife. As an aside, I've seen some threads here which contain thousands of posts! Perhaps it is time to "nip it in the bud!"
Thanks for the recent posts. Yes I also loved Don Knotts on " Andy Griffith ", that show was not the same after Don left ( as did Floyd the Barber ). Mind you after " The Ropers " show was spun off from " Three's Company " Don had some success there when he came in as the new Landlord.
Somehow I missed " Alias Smith & Jones ", possibly as I used to do a lot of shift-work. And as I don't have cable TV anymore I'm not up to date on the newer shows.

A state of events that requires immediate rectification...

And speaking of Brits, how can we forget Monty Python or Benny HIll?
and of course Davve Allen
Thanks for the updates. I'm also a fan of Benny Hill, I've got several of his shows on videos. Another great show from the UK was Faulty Towers and I've all of those episodes on DVD's. One other show that I remember from the mid-1960's is the Eric Sykes Show. Two others were: On The Buses & Last Of The Summer Wine, all British.
Sometimes I come across items that can be put into two or more of the threads that I have on the go. I was looking at the September 1998 issue of " Practical Classics " magazine ( re: Cars ) and came across an article on a restored 1972 Volvo P1800E. That model number may not be that well known but it was the sporty machine driven by Roger Moore as " The Saint " on TV ( many years before he became the 007 guy ). The restored Volvo brought the TV show to mind as soon as I saw the photos, quite a cute little sports car.
Thanks for leaving the post and the nice photo Rumbasnortrip. Yes that is of course Roger Moore with the cute little Volvo. I gather the the Producers of " The Saint " asked several British companies ( including Jaguar ) for the loan of a car for the series but no luck. So in the end it was Volvo that got all of that free advertising as their car was seen on millions of TV screens each week.
As time goes on we lose a few of our well liked performers from time to time. As I've mentioned in some of my threads here I'm a fan of Radio and I often have one going here all day long. As a matter of fact I've got a Clock-Radio instead of and alarm clock. This morning the radio came on and sad item came on the air. As the Announcer said ( & if the show was still in production ) a note from Juan's Mom would have read " Mister Kotter would you please excuse Juan as he had to go to Heaven today ". Yes the Actor who played Juan Epstein has passed away from heart failure at age 60 and yet thu the magic of re-runs the Sweat-Hogs will live on Forever !
