Here is a quote from the staff of Chess.com:

There are a few simple rules for posting on Chess.com.

#1 - Respect others. Do not be mean.

#2 - No profanity, swearing, or inappropriate language or topics.

#3 - No religious or political debate or commentary in these forums. Religion and politics are important and deeply personal, but Chess.com is a friendly community where we come together around a common love for chess and debating these two topics tend to pull people apart. If you would like to discuss religion or politics, you may want to join this group => Open Discussion Group.

Here is another quote:

Some people have expressed an interest in discussing certain topics that are not currently allowed in the main Chess.com forums (notably religious debate or politics). If you would like to talk about them, then this is the place for you! To enter the Open Discussion Forums you must join this group => Click here to join!

Have fun but please remember that anonymity is not an excuse for bad behavior. :)

NOTE: Chess.com does NOT monitor these forums.

Now to the real topic of this forum.  At least 5 threads have been completely deleted from the Open Forums Group, not locked, but completely deleted as if they never existed.  The deleted topics have recently been tracked back to Chess.com, who supposedly does not monitor us.  Why are our posts being monitored and deleted?
Religion and politics are enmeshed into a great many topics, so you cannot discuss these topics in any depth without touching on R & P.  We at the Open Forum Group keep our political and religious discussions out of the main chess.com arena (which is something that not all users do).  Some topics have gotten heated, but we have been civil to each other.
So once again, why is Chess.com deleting our posts?

I also would like an answer to BILL 5666,s question. As a member of the open forum, I can attest to the fact that some of the discussions have become heated, but nobody has crossed the line. No personal attacks,no name calling. We know that this forum is privilege that you have provided for us,with the understanding that we keep it civil. IF this is an open forum ,then why are our posts being deleted? I think we deserve an answer, considering that we have followed the rules of civility.

                                                                   Thank You

I haven't been to this part of the forums yet. I've arrived tracking Bill_5666. I suspect that if I read the posts, I might side with Bill since we seem to share many ideas and interests. Regardless, on the face of it, I'm disturbed by what is apparently going on and being done by Chess.com staff.

Anti-intellectualism has become a hobby of sorts for so many people worldwide. Why such behavior exists here, where so many intellectually gifted people come together, is beyond my understanding.

Tell me, please, Chess.com staff: Why are the religious and political views of ordinary chess players tabu to discuss, but Bobby Fischer's  and Gary Kasparov's are not?

You blew it. So apologize, and don't delete discussions again. Anything else is fake and disingenuous.

Update on deleted posts.  The deletions were caused by a bug in the system.  The problem is believed to be fixed.  Seems to be so far.
