OTF and my thoughts on its problems.

OTFOOC is spam and encourages members to be weird and "freaky". The concept of the thread is great, but the thread ironically got taken out of context.

Look, I've been interacting with you for a while and have combed through both OTFOoC and OTF:FR and they aren't slop. I get that now. Before, I thought pointing out that kind of stuff conceptually would be odd, but yeah I know it's just a joke now. The only reason I'd labeled it slop prior was because of the titles and the first 3 pages, which had les than nice stuff, but they're all supposed to be jokes, and I didn't catch that. That's my bad. I take back my statement, but I won't edit the original comment so that people can see that I make mistakes too. The whole point of this forum is to point out mistakes and try and help guide people to not making them again.

It's all good, I'm not mad at you! I actually agree with a lot of your statements too. It's mainly the freaky members that could possibly give OTF a bad rep (no offense to them, of course.) I'd say that I am a very balanced member: freaky yet normal, brainrotted yet intelligent (to a degree), sensitive yet understanding. The biggest problem that I have is my self-loathing. I rarely celebrate my accomplishments, and I often mentally bash myself out of guilt.

You're better than a large sum of OTFers I've interacted with, because you actually read and respond to the stuff I write. Everyone has different personalities and traits, and I'm not judging those who act brainrotted or er... odd to a degree (frankly, I do that time to time myself), it's the volume of the people and how they band together to create a rather bad portion of a good community. Like a tumorous growth. The people individually don't do much, but it's the collective that shares and condones oddities that cause the problems. You are not one of those people. Read EDIT 2 on #1, I fixed my lil mistake. If you want any other edits I'd be happy to do so, seeing as you are one of the few who actually read this.

But if the bunny's perception of reality differs from our own, what does that say about the construct of the bunny? Does the bunny think? Live? Or does it do something that we perceive as something else? Does it truly show affection for a world that is constantly against it?

It could've gone a bit better, and I don't really like the way it encourages people to write freaky comments just to be put in there. How do you think I could rework it, or are the results out of my control?

The OoC thread, while seemingly bait-y, has like you said: a great concept. Though the execution could've been leaps and bounds better. But it's better than other forums I've pointed out, which intentionally comment bait/are actually 'freaky.' OoC is more of a way to take what someone said and make it a joke, but yeah, I can see it leading to people purposefully trying to get on the thread.

The thread is always under your control, but it's a matter of whether you want to threaten to block people, and clean it up yourself or not. It's a call you have to make as the OP, and the direction you choose to take your thread is up to you.

Blocking people might be a bad move for me, since the commenters there are my friends. Of course, the way people interpret the thread's purpose is entirely out of my control, but maybe I could add some stuff to the first post to help discourage people from purposefully writing freaky comments. I'm definitely going to not allow self-posts, unless the screenshot has multiple people including the person posting.

Personally, I would make it be a 'tight' thread. That means that it (meaning all the content posted) has to pass through you before it can be posted. And it has to be in a place where you can see that there was a conversation before and after, and that specific portion was organically made. E.g. It has to be in a visible area, like a club notes section, a forum, anywhere where there is a visible, natural discussion. Also, to be a little more secure, I would try and ask for permission from the speaker to post that "out of context" content.

You could do that, and maybe lightly warn specific individuals. But like I said, it's not my thread, and it's completely up to you on how you'd like everything to go. If you're fine with how it is, then you do you, boo.

Doesn't matter. Everyone lives in their personal perception of reality. The bunny loves his reality

So now the bunny can think, therefore he can feel, therefore he can love. But love is an incredibly complex emotion, and love and hate can often be interchangable. A 'tsundere' is a light example in human terms, but how do we know that our love isn't the bunny's hate?

Chapter 3 (I think): The Welcoming Side of OTF

----------------------------------

Alright, OTF isn't all bad. Obviously there are good sides to it, and I feel the need to balance out the negativity with some positive things I have seen and experienced first-hand. There are many welcoming people in OTF, and they seem to be kind when a new person arrives on OTF.

These are just a few examples of the welcoming nature of the OTF community. In my time as @thethicc0ne, I experienced little to no hitches when interacting with people, and actually made new friends. Considering all the "slop" that's on OTF, some community members, maybe most, are actually nice and aren't representative of the slop that appears in the forums daily. I'd give my rating as @thethicc0ne a solid 9/10, as there was a pretty big hitch, but it's been buried under a large volume of comments. Mostly though, I don't think the forums are indicative of the wellness of the forums. Next chapter coming soon.

That was a very short chapter

Try putting links in the first post so that people can find the other chapters easier. Kinda like this:

Chapter 1

Chapter 2

Chapter 3

Imma just quote this and add on to it whenever I make a new post. Thanks for the idea.

Never! Love is a gut reaction
