OTF suggestions thread.

I’ve received word from a few people and mods that chess.com have started to pay a bit more attention to the feedback provided about the forums section, and they have said that if we want to see changes here to let them know. I’ll be editing this post whenever I can with new suggestions for the site’s forum section on how to improve OTF and the overall social side of this site. I won’t be adding my own suggestions so that the first post isn’t super long and members don’t lose interest. Use this thread as a discussion thread for new ideas or changes you’d like to see here and how we can improve OTF. And of course, be sure to add input on what you like and what you enjoy here. This might be better in Site Feedback, but I thought it would get better traction here. That’s all! That’s for reading, and I look forward to hearing what you have to say about the social side of this site and how chess.com can improve it.

Improved for mobile (we can’t quote, change text size or color, or add images)

I mean, you could just go on the website version. It’s the same as computer.

That’s a good one. I also think that there should be a filter for mobile users as well so that people on the website don’t get automuted for quoting app users’ posts.

I don’t want or need a filter lol I do get hit with automutes still

Not everyone has access to the web version for various reasons. I don’t see why they can’t sync up the app and the website and add the same features on the app.

maybe make it so that the page doesn't refresh everytime you post a message? it would be better if it worked kinda like a chat or GC so you get on time messages.

The filter on the website makes it to where you’re more censored and have to be careful what you say a lot, which is find is usually a good thing. But on the app, you can curse freely and post slurs as freely as you’d like with no punishment unless a mod or staff member sees.

Yeah, that would be amazing as well. It is frustrating that you have to refresh threads to post on them, but it’s just a minor inconvenience. I don’t know how difficult that would be to fix.

its kind of major for me, being that ads are everywhere and it takes up a gig of memory, so it takes a minute to refresh. (I'm on a school Chromebook so it mostly effects me T^T)

Group chats already exist on the website, if I’m not mistaken.

yea, they also work like a chat which is SOO nice

Hmmmmm, maybe a otf visual update, and maybe make it a bit smoother on websites. Also way LESS ads
