Pay the grandmasters

Would you like to play with a grandmaster?

I watch the grandmasters playing in live chess.

Step 1

Time control is blitz 3 + 2

Step 2

For any grandmaster vs grandmaster game in live chess at this time control the grandmaster that wins the game earns one credit.

Step 3

Any member on this site can buy credits to play with a grandmaster. One credit = One dollar.

Step 4

The grandmaster has credits, you have credits.

You go to live chess and select the "Play the grandmaster" option.

You are matched with a grandmaster and you play your game, or games.

Conclusion

The grandmaster first has to earn a credit, then he has to cash in the credit.

You have to buy credits and get the chance to play games with grandmasters.

More grandmasters that play each other and play with regular members means more customers for chess.com

I used one credit = one dollar to keep it simple.

The actual price could be set once a quarter based on supply and demand.

The average grandmaster credits earned (supply) should be about the same as the average member credits purchased (demand).

The price could include cents, for example, USD 2.50 per credit (token).

This idea should only be done for grandmasters, it would be a mistake to use others, like international masters, it should not be watered down for any reason.

You want to attract both grandmasters and customers.

Start with one credit = one dollar.

Demand greater than supply?

If members buying credits (demand) is greater than grandmasters earning credits (supply) then the price per credit (token) will increase.

A good ideal price is USD 5.00 per credit (token)

Assuming that a grandmaster wins 50% of his grandmaster games then it will take him 10 grandmaster games to earn 5 credits (tokens) or shall we say one day to earn 5 credits.

When he cashes in it takes him about an hour to cash in those 5 credits by playing with members.

If he cashes in 10 times per month then he earns USD 250 per month simply by playing on chess.com

If demand (members) is greater than supply (grandmasters) then change it so that the grandmaster earns one credit simply by playing with another grandmaster, he does not have to win the game to earn the credit.

I played OTB with a grandmaster once a week for 3 months a few years ago.

Not many chess players ever get the chance to play with grandmasters.

Supply greater than demand?

If the grandmaster credits (supply) is greater than the member credits (demand) then the price per token (game) will drop.

The ideal price is USD 5.00 per token

The ideal situation is that the grandmasters earn one credit per grandmaster game played, they do not have to win the game.

If the price drops below the ideal price then further restrictions can be introduced.

For example, grandmasters will be given preference for the following:

1. long term member

2. does content for chess.com; videos, blogs, articles, etc

3. does private lessons, coaches, etc on chess.com

4. etc

In this situation grandmasters that have recently joined need to qualify somehow.

I basically just showed that a market can be created based on supply and demand.

1. set a budgeted ideal price per credit, say USD 5.00

2. change the parameters when needed on both sides, supply and demand, to meet the ideal price.

3. attract more grandmasters to chess.com

4. attract more paying customers to chess.com

5. add another feature for existing paying customers, play the grandmasters.

6. attract more views in live chess for all types of customers, watch the grandmasters.

All the best
