Another lesson for the youngster:
I'll tell you why I think a couple days of picking stones would do some good: you learn the value of a community, you learn camaraderie, you learn that many hands makes small labor.
You don't tell those who are helping you which rocks to pick and when and generally stand around shouting orders.
If you live in the east, great lakes, or midwest, I'm sure you can find a farmer who needs some help picking stone. If you can manage to hunt down such an opportunity, you would do yourself a great favour.
