The mythological god Phobos was the son of Ares and Aphrodite. He was the personification of horror. Thankfully, little was written about him in the ancient scrolls. Nonetheless, it is thanks to Phobos that the English language has words such as arachnophobia, claustrophobia and the like.
Phobos is the name given to one of two moons orbiting the planet Mars. We do not know what prompted the nineteenth century astronomers to give the moon such a forbidding name. Was it some kind of a premonition? No one knows. What we do know for sure, is that the moon Phobos will crash into Mars in the future. It is not a question of if, but when. In the mid twentieth century, it was thought the crash would take place within ten million years. Today, the scientists think it would be forty million years. No matter. It will crash eventually.
My interest in the moon Phobos was aroused when I heard the famed astronaut Buzz Aldrin mention the existence of a monolith on Phobos in the video below (0:37 onwards):
Would I have only stopped there, and not followed up on this lead! I would have been spared the horror of the unspeakable discovery later on... A horror that would make my skin crawl and make my body shake with fear... For you see, the Phobos monolith was a classic "false flag" made to deflect your attention from the greater finding.
Yes, you can google the phrase "Phobos monolith" and find some boring pictures such as the one below...
But if you go a step farther (what madness prompted me to do so) and examine the detailed pictures of Phobos' Crater Stickney (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stickney_(crater)#mediaviewer/File:Stickney_mro.jpg), you will find on the left hand side of the official NASA picture an unusual black mark. Those of you will iPads will easily magnify it and see it. It. The unspeakable, reptilian, two-legged creature!
Please forgive me for unleashing this horror on you. Download the pictures before they take them down!
