Anyone in this forum happens to care about Physics?

Personally I'm studying it. Currently in my 2nd year and it's the only thing that can keep my mind off the almighty game D:

Yes, actually I am quite interested in quantum physics/mechanics. I can't claim to understand it very well, but I find it fascinating. Here is a favorite lecture on the subject:

I made mistake about spelling of Phy...It is normal...But l mean, child must go garden for play toys...and go to bed early...or if yu arent child yu must learn respect and kind... second : all masses attract each other.. who can prove G gravitiy constant...who???

Why aren't you a nobel laureate already?! What is happening in this world?!

I'm applying next year to study maths and physics at university but for now am working towards Physics Olmypiads. Cool

Til98,

The wanted bishop is a second year college student, I am certain he or she knows the difference.

Here is the difference, no book needed, newton is big stuff, planets, stars, apples ect. Quantum is small, sub atomic, up, down, top, bottom, strange, charmed, strangelets, hadrons, muons, gluons, neutrinos, higgs, bosons, and possibly gravitons ect.

They are two completely different fields of physics.

Perhaps you meant unifying the two. Not newton, but relativity and quantom, as they dissagree with each other and differ greatly. That would change humanity forever,  it is the holy grail of science. The grand unified theory.

I wish you luck The wanted bishop! If you put your mind to it you can do anything you want my friend. Remember einstien was a secretary for a pattent office when he formulated his first version of R. One of his teachers called him a failure, I bet he felt dumb when Einstien won the Nobel prize... Twice... Suskind was a plumber(holographic universe theory)... Faraday had all kinds of odd jobs, then was an assistant for a renound scientist( I forgot who) when he discovered electromagnitism, and it was stolen from him.. So think alot.. Be creative.. Change the world

Even tho I think he was trolling that other dude, Thanks man for your amazing words, really well written.. I wish I was able to articulate as freely as you can but sadly English is my third language..

I only hope the best for you too! And teach your 11 years kid lots of physics please :p

Awesome! Physics Olympiads sounds nice if you have enough time.. I hope you are already considering grad school and a Phd.. What major are you mainly aiming at? I know it's kinda too early but generally speaking where are you more inclined?

I'm currently stuck between Theoritcal physics and Astrophysics, and I recently discovered that I can go Theoritical astrophysics :p Which makes me more confused...

I have been informed before that this talk is full of mistakes, I don't know how true that is, but if you want to learn about QM then wonder no more :p Oldchessdog please meet Prof. Leonard Susskind and The theoritical minimum.... Enjoy!

The following are among the most important things which quantum mechanics can describe while classical physics cannot: Discreteness of energy The wave-particle duality of light and matter Quantum tunneling The Heisenberg uncertainty principle Spin of a particle Discreteness of energy Quantum mechanics is the study of matter and radiation at an atomic level.

Avatar of WOLF_G

Classical mechanics is the study of the motion of bodies (including the special case in which bodies remain at rest) in accordance with the Newton laws of motion..

Avatar of WOLF_G

Mechanics may be divided into three branches: statics, which deals with forces acting on and in a body at rest; kinematics, which describes the possible motions of a body or system of bodies; and kinetics, which attempts to explain or predict the motion that will occur in a given

That was my first thought, copied and pasted, If you cant spell physics, how could you know where a ; (semi colon) goes... lol

HAHAHAHA exactly, IT WAS SO OBVIOUS... I think there is only one thing left to do: We stop feeding the troll

and yeah God help the poor miserable souls that he taught Physics :p
