Greetings:

I have been a member on this site since 2009. During all those years, I have never broken any rules. I never spammed. Never insulted or abused anybody. Never was disrespectful to anybody. I have made many friends here and enjoyed interacting with the large and great family of chess players from around the globe. I am unable to become a paying member of this site because of the financial sanctions placed by US government on money transfers from my country to US bank accounts. Otherwise, I would have been a proud supporting member of this beautiful site long ago.

Unfortunately, in the past couple of months, I was attacked and threatened by a person who said he has got a freind in the "programming team" of Chess.com. He said in a private message that he used his friendship in the management team of this site to mute me and threatened that if I don't "get out of business" he will ban me for ever.

Why this person wanted to mute me? Why did he threaten me? The answer is simple. I spoke out against the genocide of the innocent Palestiniam men, women and children in Gaza strip in my private clubs. I NEVER, I repeat, NEVER used any insults, or bad words against anybody. It is against my religion to insult a person, or to make mockery of a person, even if that person is an enemy, or if he is insulting me or mocking me.

My account was muted for about a month WITHOUT any legitimate reasons, and I am afraid that soon the person with his connections to the managerial team of this site is going to ban me for ever. I don't want to be banned, because during all these years, I made many written contributions to various clubs and forums, and I don't want my writings to be wiped away. I wish that when I die, and when I go away from this world, at least my writings will remain here for a while as a small reminder of who I was, and how I thought, and what I stood for.

I am not sure whom I should contact regarding this problem. I was afraid that if I wrote to the Support Team the person who muted me might see the message first and delete it. That's why I decided to post this letter on several public forums, so that somebody on the managerial team, who is not connected to this person, might see my letter and help me and protect me against being banned by this person.

Unfortunately, I am not alone in this case. Other members criticizing the genocide in Gaza were also threatened by similar messages sent by a couple of other people. They all claimed that they have friends in the management team of chess com and will use their connections to mute and ban members of this site.

I am going to post here copy of the threatening private message that was sent to me. In addition, I am going to post copy of another threatening message that was sent to another member.

I hope that the management team will stop this harrassment and threatening behaviour by a few individuals who consider themselves above the rules of this site and abuse their friendship with a few individuals in the management team to mute, ban and threaten other members.

Thanks for your support.

U seem to not be muted anymore. Also can't u directly report that person to chess.com staff?

Yes, I was un-muted just a few days back. The person who threatened me and muted me said that he's got friends in the chess.com staff. That's why I didn't write to the staff. I don't know who in the staff will receive this message, and if he/she will ban me or not.

Ohh sorry you have to go through this but I can't really do much about this. Nothing much can be done about this except take your chance and complain to all the staff. Hopefully the right one will respond first and take appropriate action.

Thank you my friend.

I thought you can discuss these sort of things in clubs without a problem… like how discussing cheaters guarantees a locked thread in forums and how it’s alright to discuss cheaters in a specific club

It is okay to discuss political or religeous topics in private clubs. But, there are a group of members from Israeli regime who are mass reporting anybody who speaks against the genocide and will mute him. They also say that they have friends in the staff who help them ban people.

I removed the public accusations.
