Poem : THE PROMISES NEVER KEPT

She built me castles of promises,

but each one was made of sand,

they rose with the tide of her words,

and vanished when truth touched the land.

I trusted her whispers like prayers,

each vow was a star in my night,

but stars too can fade without warning,

And leave the sky empty of light.

She swore — I’ll never leave you,

she swore — forever, just us two.

Her eyes were oceans of certainty,

yet they drowned me in waves untrue.

Her promises danced like illusions,

a mirage in the desert of trust,

I followed with hope in my footsteps,

but the pathway dissolved into dust.

Now silence repeats all her echoes,

my heart counts the debts of her lies,

a temple of love stands in ruins,

where devotion was meant to rise. 😊
