This sort of reminds me of a conversation I had with my extended family today. I'm the weird college educated hippie-esque millennial in a family primarily consisting of conservative, older, lower education people. Actually I am quite polite in person, as I tend to listen and reflect instead of argue even if something is said I don't agree with. Then I come here and take it out on you guys ;) hehe jk.
Anyway the conversation was about cancer treatments and cures. My cousin brought up the fact that there's no cure because of population control and there's more money in treating rather than curing. And he thinks there already is a cure. I bought into that idea maybe 3-4 years ago.
The reality is that it's less of a conspiracy and more of an organic, systematic flaw with how scientific research is funded. Pharmaceutical companies fund most cancer research and so they are funding treatments without even looking for a cure. It's not like they're specifically avoiding cures, it's just that they're not seeking them. In other words, it's not so much an evil conspiracy so much as just business as usual in capitalism.
I think the same lesson can be applied to PC. It's organic and there are systematic reasons why it's happening. It's easy to sit there and brew up conspiracy theories because that would mean an easy solution.
Sad news: there is no easy solution because it's not being consciously directed by anyone. It's occurring under all our noses, subtly, invisibly. To fix the symptom doesn't require treating the symptom, it requires treating the illness.
