How can you tell if the popcount version of stockfish is really running faster than the 'ordinary' version? Someone said that you should look at the 'nps', but my nps bounces around a lot and I can't tell if popcnt is working faster or not.

Hello, may I ask whether chess programs like fritz 15 and chessbase14 can go to a computer with AMD processor

I ran across this very late, but yes, AMD processors from the last several years can run all never chess engines and some AMD processors are among the fastest available for home computers.
