Are you any good at pool? I can play but am a real straight shooter. I can draw the cue or give it a decent top spin but true English shots never do any good for me.

We had a pool table when I was kid. I never got good at it but I heard all of the terms. I know what a bridge is and to hold still when someone is taking a shot. They used playing cards to level the slates. I remember a lot of the rules but don't know all of them. There are two pool tables where I work because why not throw your paycheck away on gambling.

The most annoying pool rule is that you have to call your shots. Man they're strict about that one.

Lol depends on the time and place. Most clubs allow players to agree on many rules at the start of the game, this is often one of them. However, as we get better this one is sort of unspoken. Most players will graciously give up a turn if they make a ball accidentally.

A fun variation is when each player calls his opponents shot.

Hee hee. That variation would be hard. The other hard thing about pool is the bank shot.
