you underestimate Minecraft. Minecraft has made more sales than ANY OTHER VIDEO GAME IN HISTORY except for one game, which is Tetris. And that game has been out decades longer than Minecraft!

As a matter of fact, the only reason why Pokemon is well known is because of the show that was made. It was not famous at all until the show came out

Neither is Minecraft. It was voted as one of the best graphics in a game. Guiness World Records created a Video Game Guiness World record edition (I can't remember, but it was either 2015 or 2016. 40 million people play the game in a month. Roughly 1 million players play Minecraft AT THE SAME TIME! By the time you finish reading this, roughly 40-60 people would have bought this game!

well, I found just one more person that just LOVES attacking anything they find, while COMPLETELY IGNORING all other data given!
2015/2016 is not too long ago, and I doubt a game that is so incredibly popular (2nd most sales than any other game except Tetris) would die in 2-3 years. The other statistics given were recorded in late 2016, and if you think that the game "died" in one year's worth of time, than congratulations! You have just created a false conspiracy!
