How important/relevant is the historical aspect/context of chess to your interest in it? 1= no relevance. 10= total focus. Give a reason if you want.
For me I'd say about 7. I really like that people have been playing and studying this version of chess for hundreds of years. It feels like it has more gravitas than more modern games. You can stand on the shoulders of the giants of the game, and play the same game as so many interesting historical figures have.
