down place is a large and deep sprawling pool.  during the height of winter, sometimes, it gets slow enough for ice to form.  after a ffew weeks assuming brtual cold air- people will venture out, ice fish and pull out really big walleyes and pike.

but they are Nuts!  no way would I fish on the ice on a flowing river!!

anyways.  I've been known to fish the shore and do some wading in the general area.   its all good.

Interesting article and completely surprised this is happening now.

Red wine is good for you, as is a 'little' beer.

Avatar of thegreat_patzer

Not particularly suprised.

the new texas crude is some of the lightest crude in the world.  refiners all across North America are struggling to process it.

Most experts just a few years ago were expecting crude to go the opposite way with much heavier sour crude.

Just sayin

Avatar of TheAuthority

And 'light' crude means what? Less or more of the good stuff?

Avatar of thegreat_patzer

More gasoline, less diesel, and less heavy hydrocarbons.  also light as in less sulfur which is a major pollutant in fuels.

IOW "light" stuff means more good stuff- but a refinery set up a little  differently.

I see said the blind man. Thanks.

keep in mind too that a major refinery hasn't been constructed in many, many years in USA; so "demand" for one has been growing.

margins are good but not great. but with the new politics people in my industry are expecting an easier time with environmental red tape...

Article says this is the first of this size in 40 years, mid 70s.

The great are you suggesting the environment isn't a pressing concern for government? Surely not?! Wasn't it only yesterday Al talked about an inconvenient truth?!
