Remember the day you started chess?

Nah, I didn't. I just played chess for fun, I didn't take it THAT seriously.

Here's my chess life story:

I learnt the rules as a little kid but didn't really play except against my dad

I played a school chess thing in 2023 and came 2nd somehow even tho I barely knew how the pieces moved

So my dad was like "WOW MY SON HAS A GIFT LETS SIGN HIM UP FOR CHESS TOURNAMENTS"

Then I lost like every game in an actual OTB tournament 💀

But someone told me about lichess and I got addicted. Started improving fast and I got a coach. Played tens of thousands of games until I got to 2500 lichess recently in bullet

So I'm doing more OTB tournaments this summer and I've won all my games so far in the noob sections. Hopefully should keep climbing rating and next summer go for a title

Just on lichess bullet. 2300 is my limit for chess.com rn. I think lichess is a lot less laggy

I started playing chess when I was 8. My dad teached me the basics when I went meet him for one of the last times. (My mom and dad where not already in good relationship and they divorced not so much time later). This is a new account of mine but I had an older one opened in 2022, I think.

Yea I remember. My dad taught me and my sister the rules after buying a set from somewhere. I vividly remember the experience. Lol Our first game didn't even end cause we both refused to capture any pieces thinking the other would just capture back. We were literally thinking 0 moves ahead 😆

I created my account on 26 of June 2024 because my friends told me about this site

I learned how to play chess almost 7 years ago. It was December 2017, I was with my family at someone's house, and another family was there and there was a guy (who I talk to sometimes) was there and we didn't have much to do, but at that house there was a Lego chess board and he taught me how to play chess. Then I really got into chess, 2018 I was playing a lot of chess, (I didn't know chess.com existed at the time lol), but I played on different chess apps mostly against computers, then from 2020-2022 I kinda lost interest in Chess, but then last year when Chess became a huge trend I got back into it, (I didn't have a Chess.com account cause I didn't have an email that I could use, but I played a lot on guest mode and I also started watching GothamChess, and I got into the chess world, and now, I'm into Chess more than ever. I finally opened my account in June and that's where I am right now

Opened account on Dec 2022, hit 500 rapid on march 2023, 700 on July, 900 on August, 900 on September, 900 on December, 900 on January, 900 on march, 900 on may, 900 on July and 900 this month.

I was wanting to learn chess before but I couldn't understand it. I finally understood and learned chess on September 10, 2022 and at first I was playing and learning chess only for fun, but now I really want to take chess seriously and become a GM. That's how I got 8 wins in a row, btw.
