Yeah, we probably should. Unfortunately, too many people are clinging desperately to a 250-year-old Constitution and picking and choosing what parts of it to follow.
I’m not sure how hard it is to understand that guns are a problem. In counties where they either don’t have guns or they’re heavily managed by very trusted people, they have a lower gun death rate.

may I debate you as well?

Sure. But I'd better not hear the whole "Criminals will keep their guns, and people won't be able to defend themselves" statement from you.

except that the people who obtained guns legally, and their guns are regestered with the US will lose theirs while criminals will keep theirs.

"Sure debate me, just don't tell the truth". Well, I guess I can leave that VALID argument out, deal.

And there it is.

I don’t know how realistic getting rid of guns completely would be, but there should be much heavier restrictions, and severe punishments for misuse

It's not too realistic, and extremely difficult to do. Restrictions are lax, and allow anyone over the age of 18 (in some states).

There are pretty severe punishments, like jail time, and stuff like that.

Imo, if you misuse a gun AT ALL, you should not be allowed to own a gun.

For minor infractions you’d have to take a class again, for major ones you wouldn’t get another chance

Population of UK 35 million

Population of US 342 million

ratio 1 : 9.77

Please look at the percentages before making such a dubious statement.

His argument in our DMs was that while many gun deaths happen in Europe, stabbings happen in Britain.

And apparently, there's more here than in the UK. Weird, huh?

Also, here's a ranking of every country in terms of safety. See how far you have to scroll down to find the USA.
