Yes obviously a hoax. But I fail to see what the point is. There's no humour in it, nobody will believe it's true, your posting it on a chess site so it wont spread accross the internet like wildfire etc etc. Additionally it's just not a nice thing to write.

That someone has died when in fact they have not. I mean, would you meet up with your buddies at the bar on a Friday night and tell them this hoax news just for a laugh? Would they be amused when you reveal an hour later that you made it up for a giggle? Or would they think that it was a bit of a weird thing to do? Like you say this kind of stuff is all over the internet but why do people have to act bizarre just because they're online?
What DID happen to JK Rowling today is that someone stole her latest book. The Prequel to Harry Potter.

The tower was a nightmare. After a week of trying, you can go on-line and get color step-by-step instructions to download. A week later I did "Diagon Alley" with no problem. I purchased the "Astronomy Tower" but haven't started it yet.

The cash cows need milking. I see there's another Pirates of the Carribean coming out. Which looks exactly the same as all the others. 'Only Jack Sparrow can help us now'.
Pirates of the caribbean is more entertaining than any HP movie. Soundtrack is better and history is better.
1st and 3rd movies were very good. The rest kinda sucked, but I would definitely watch another POTC movie rather than HP.

My review of all but the first one: Johnny Depp farts about in a pirate costume for 2 hours talking all piratelike. 2 stars. Not that massive a fan of Potter either but the later ones were ok.
