Russian references in usernames

I thought it was a harmless question that was relevant.
They've banned Russian flags, but you can have the name Russian in your username.
If they think a Russian flag is going to upset Ukranian posters, then why wouldn't they think that the word 'Russian' wouldn't upset them as well ?
If you questions or concerns about this, you should contact Support directly using the option in the menu and ask staff.

Other than what's in the above article , this type of discussion isn't allowed in the forums.
Posted this in general forum, but the moderator locked the thread, deemed it 'political' - never mind the never ending russian flag threads that loitered around that forum of course.
Anyone, can anyone answer the following.
If the Russian flag is banned as it's deemed an affront to Ukrainians over the war, then why is the word -Russian, not banned as well then? was just watching Dina Belankaya's speed run with the account 'RussianChessSchool', I'd have thought it was tanatamount to the same thing. If the Russian flag upsets Ukrainians which of course is understandable, then I'd imagine the promotion of anything Russian would do so to, including the mere mention of the name on accounts.
