Didn’t Hawkins hate quantum mechanics? Bc his theory pertained to all the “big stuff”, and was aligned with general relativity, but once you looked at all the “small stuff” that behaved the rules of quantum mechanics his theory no longer applied. So to fix this he tried to come up with a new theory, but as far as I know nothing really came of it
