Should I close my Chess.com account?

I just come online to clear my notifs of "Cheating Forum" club, not to play chess. I play chess on Chess.com very rarely nowadays. I wanted to help Chess.com, that is why I am in "Cheating Forum" club. Even if I play chess on Chess.com, I do not improve. Even if I want to play online, I can play on Chess.com without having an account. And since I study almost all day, I can live without Chess.com for many days unlike before.

So, should I close my Chess.com account?

Many of you might say "It is up to you". But this forum is to hear your suggestions that how Chess.com can be more useful than I think.

It's definitely up to you, but I recommend you don't to close your account but if you think you are not improving then you can obviously close as per your interest, if you try you can improve btw.

I honestly think you shouldn’t close. As you said, you don’t really use it, so there’s no point in closing it. You could always come back later.

I have been stuck at certain rating levels multiple times. Once I learn enough by playing enough games, I seem to be able to slowly advance by 200 elo at a time. I was stuck on 900 elo for many months before advancing to 1100. I don't think closing your account is wise if you are not certain you will not want to return to it. It can take days to get it back and you can only ask the administrators to restore it.

yeah, not sensible.. especially considering you lol like the site 😂

It is not about that I cannot improve my rating here. It is that Chess.com doesn't help me improve my Chess. Thanks for your suggestion though.

But most of you didn't tell how CHESS.com helps me improve my chess. The reason is not that I can't improve my chess. That is not Chess.com's fault.

You can study games of world class players, analyze their moves, you can learn from lessons and videos, you can attempt puzzles and play games to improve. You shouldn't play chess to pass time or to play, you should play it to improve.

But I need someone to explain and analyze moves in detail. A stockfish will just suggest best moves and leave you alone. Even if it shows you accuracy and other details (I don't and can't purchase membership, but even if you have it), it won't explain you, or give you crucial terms and key points.

Also, I am quitting Chess.com because I can't improve chess here, so obviously I would play chess here to improve and not for fun.
