Slightly new guy looking for help

Hello there, I am the wanderinglearner.

I have beenplaying chess for 16 years and have not won one game in my whole life.  I came to chess.com to learn how to improve and I was wondering what are the best resources for learning to how to improve my chess skills.  Are there any good books for developing chess skills; the only book I have right now is Chess for Dummies and that hasn't helped one bit.  Your help will be appreciated.

I apologize in advance if I posted this in the wrong forum.

You can check out the sources chess.com has to offer to improve your game. Chess Mentor is highly recommended:

Also, you can try solving tactics puzzles in online servers, like the tactics trainer in here or at chesstempo. If you are willing to invest a little, Chessmaster The Art of Learning is also great for beginner level players.
