I wonder I am still alive when 100 ligthning bolts strike the earth........and I`m not the only one - WOW!!

Humanity was able to survive....I mean we are daily attacked by lightning strikes. Sounds like a wonder, isn´t it?

510.1 million km^2 is the surface area of the earth and a human barely takes 1 foot^2 while standing, also there are lightning hotspots, like golf areas and stuff

Mi_Amigo

many people have already been struck by lightning

The skin is a poor conductor, so for example if you're wet, there's a pretty good chance it travels along your skin without killing you.

If if uses your insides as a conductor though... yeah, you're cooked tongue.png

Mi_Amigo

it mainly shocks your heart as it basically uses electricity to work

There's a forest ranger in the USA... called Sullivan?... who has been struck by lightning seven or eight times. Never in a spacecraft, though.

It was 55 years ago! My father was in the Canadian Air Force, and was stationed at Baden-Soellingen.

This lightning stuff is scary. I mean, 'hotspots' aside, it sounds like it can pretty much strike anywhere. So it's a global hazard. What about on other planets? Is there lightning on Mars or Saturn? Should I move there, just to be safe?

The lightning on Jupiter can be detected from here!

Not sure about other planets, though.

The question is not which planet is safe, the question is

HOW CAN WE LEAVE EARTH (in a rocket) WITHOUT BEING HIT BY A LIGHTNING????

Do not forget - 100 every second search for you!
