Well, one area we *can* talk about is that it would be much easier to get malware on your computer when you're downloading stuff. So you have to be extra careful.
I just watched Steve Gibson's "Security Now" podcast where he was talking about Google's new ZIP top level domain. It's going to be a complete disaster. In fact, I'm sure the bad guys are already taking advantage of that mess. The best thing that can happen (short of Google just axing the domain) will be that all the browsers just completely block that domain.
Yeah, I guess that's good advice for someone who's never been on the internet... visiting sites can harm your computer, and downloading files can harm your computer.
If you only visit and download from trustworthy sites then it's not a problem, but if you're 12 years old and google "free robux" or, I don't know "free marvel movies" and start downloading things... lol.
Well, even trustworthy sites can get hacked these days, so you can't assume any web site is automatically problem-free.
Eh, ok, but that's pretty different from coming home and your 12 year old was downloading "free programs" all afternoon...
